Synopsis
Light northeast winds will prevail across the coastal waters today with high pressure across the middle and Upper Texas coast this afternoon. Winds will veer to the east and southeast tonight as the ridge shifts eastward. Light to moderate southeast winds should prevail Monday and early Tuesday before a cold front moves offshore the Lower Texas coast Tuesday afternoon. Small craft advisories will likely be needed Tuesday night into Wednesday as winds shift to the north and increase in the wake of the front. Strong north winds will prevail Tuesday night into Wednesday allowing seas to build to near 10 feet offshore. Winds and seas should gradually diminish Wednesday night into Thursday as the pressure gradient across the western Gulf of Mexico begins to weaken slightly.
