Morning Jer: What is is that folks just don't get about this bill? For the life of me, I will never understand why anyone would want something like this.

Remember, if I control your health care, I control your life; in all aspects.
Smoke, I charge you more.
Become an invalid and "non-productive", I withhold your care.
Eat a Twinkie and I'll not treat your for cholesterol.
Don't run 5 miles a day to stay in shape, I deny you heart medicine.
Do sports that might injure your joints, I'll not allow you to have surgery when you have an injury.


Control of Healthcare = Control of your Life!

I do, however, feel it has a long, hard battle ahead. Hopefully, if it passes, there will be many changes to the existing bill before it does pass.





McCaughey: Pelosi Bill's Radical Agenda Revealed

The healthcare reform plan being pushed by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and President Barack Obama illustrates the Democrats' radical agenda, hidden amid 1,990 pages of legislative jargon, says former New York Lt. Gov. Betsy McCaughey.
In an op-ed article appearing Saturday on The Wall Street Journal's Web site,McCaughey reveals shocking details of the proposed legislation.
Some of the more alarming aspects of the bill, according to McCaughey:


“Sec. 224 (p. 118) provides that 18 months after the bill becomes law, the Secretary of Health and Human Services will decide what a "qualified plan" covers and how much you'll be legally required to pay for it. That's like a banker telling you to sign the loan agreement now, then filling in the interest rate and repayment terms 18 months later.”


“Sec. 59b (pp. 297-299) says that when you file your taxes, you must include proof that you are in a qualified plan. If not, you will be fined thousands of dollars. Illegal immigrants are exempt from this requirement.”


“Sec. 1114 (pp. 391-393) replaces physicians with physician assistants in overseeing care for hospice patients.”


“On Nov. 2, the Congressional Budget Office estimated what the plans will likely cost. An individual earning $44,000 before taxes who purchases his own insurance will have to pay a $5,300 premium and an estimated $2,000 in out-of-pocket expenses, for a total of $7,300 a year, which is 17 percent of his pre-tax income. A family earning $102,100 a year before taxes will have to pay a $15,000 premium plus an estimated $5,300 out-of-pocket, for a $20,300 total, or 20 percent of its pre-tax income. Individuals and families earning less than these amounts will be eligible for subsidies paid directly to their insurer.”


“Sec. 1161 (pp. 520-545) cuts payments to Medicare Advantage plans (used by 20 percent of seniors). Advantage plans have warned this will result in reductions in optional benefits such as vision and dental care.”


“Sec. 399V (p. 1422) provides for grants to community 'entities' with no required qualifications except having 'documented community activity and experience with community healthcare workers' to 'educate, guide, and provide experiential learning opportunities' aimed at drug abuse, poor nutrition, smoking and obesity.”


“Secs. 2521 and 2533 (pp. 1379 and 1437) establishes racial and ethnic preferences in awarding grants for training nurses and creating secondary-school health science programs.”

What a load to digest.

Your right, he didnt start it. But as a senator, he did vote for continued funding. Also as a candidate he said he would pull our troops out!! Your right on the money, IT IS HIS NOW!

Psychiatrists, pastors, priests, most religious leaders are held to a law that while it protects their confidentiality, demands that they report to an appropriate authority if anyone under their care/in their congregation say, imply or appear to be a threat to themselves or others. They can even be held criminally and civilly responsible if they fail to report such a display and the threat becomes a reality. Why are muslims held to a different standard? Because they have a "sense of community" so do ALL other religious congregations! Because they have suffered persecution...so have ALL other religions!
This man's Imam needs to be brought in and held accountable, this engineer he has debated with as well as others in his "community" who knew of his ideals and ideations and FAILED to report it need to be held accountable. We are a nation at WAR, failure to report sympathies, statements of agreement or behavior that can be interpreted as assistance to our enemies is nothing short of TREASON!
How many more people must die before we stop worrying about hurting people's feelings more than protecting ourselves? It is NOT profiling, or any of the other BS things people want to call it, it is realistic common sense and self defense!
If I get pulled over because there is a report that an overweight bald white guy in a green car is going to shoot someone, I would not feel profilled, even though I drive a black pick up. I would feel that the police were doing a good job of responding to the information they have been provided and are working hard to protect me.
If the police receive a report that a black man with a backwards ball cap stole a red car, it is not profiling for them to pull over a black man with backwards ball cap in a blue car, because who is to say that he hasn't switched cars!
If the government knows that idealistic muslim men with strong anti-american feelings are killing Americans, it is not profiling to monitor individuals who are reported for displaying that behavior, it is response to the information they have been provided.
Furthermore, all of these muslim leaders come out every time something like this happens protesting "This is not what Islam teaches, these people are bad muslims, they are radicals, and not the majority"...well, start reporting them, as long as you harbor them your hands are just as bloody as theirs!
Finally, the families of the killed and injured should seek civil reparations from the mosque he attended, as they failed to report his threatening behavior/attitudes/statements, and are therefore liable for his behavior.

Fort Hood's 9/11

On Thursday afternoon, a radicalized Muslim US Army officer shouting "Allahu Akbar!" committed the worst act of terror on American soil since 9/11. And no one wants to call it an act of terror or associate it with Islam.

What cowards we are. Political correctness killed those patriotic Americans at Ft. Hood as surely as the Islamist gunman did. And the media treat it like a case of non-denominational shoplifting.
This was a terrorist act. When an extremist plans and executes a murderous plot against our unarmed soldiers to protest our efforts to counter Islamist fanatics, it’s an act of terror. Period.
When the terrorist posts anti-American hate-speech on the Web; apparently praises suicide bombers and uses his own name; loudly criticizes US policies; argues (as a psychiatrist, no less) with his military patients over the worth of their sacrifices; refuses, in the name of Islam, to be photographed with female colleagues; lists his nationality as "Palestinian" in a Muslim spouse-matching program, and parades around central Texas in a fundamentalist playsuit — well, it only seems fair to call this terrorist an "Islamist terrorist."

But the president won’t. Despite his promise to get to all the facts. Because there’s no such thing as "Islamist terrorism" in ObamaWorld.

And the Army won’t. Because its senior leaders are so sick with political correctness that pandering to America-haters is safer than calling terrorism "terrorism."

And the media won’t. Because they have more interest in the shooter than in our troops — despite their crocodile tears.

Maj. Nadal Malik Hasan planned this terrorist attack and executed it in cold blood. The resulting massacre was the first tragedy. The second was that he wasn’t killed on the spot. Hasan survived. Now the rest of us will have to foot his massive medical bills. Activist lawyers will get involved, claiming "harassment" drove him temporarily insane. There’ll be no end of trial delays. At best, taxpayer dollars will fund his prison lifestyle for decades to come, since our politically correct Army leadership wouldn’t dare pursue or carry out the death penalty.

Maj. Hasan will be a hero to Islamist terrorists abroad and their sympathizers here. While US Muslim organizations decry his acts publicly, Hasan will be praised privately. And he’ll have the last laugh.
But Hasan isn’t the sole guilty party. The US Army’s unforgivable political correctness is also to blame for the casualties at Ft. Hood.

Given the myriad warning signs, it’s appalling that no action was taken against a man apparently known to praise suicide bombers and openly damn US policy. But no officer in his chain of command, either at Walter Reed Army Medical Center or at Ft. Hood, had the guts to take meaningful action against a dysfunctional soldier and an incompetent doctor.

Had Hasan been a Lutheran or a Methodist, he would’ve been gone with the simoon. But officers fear charges of discrimination when faced with misconduct among protected minorities. Now 12 soldiers and a security guard lie dead. 31 soldiers were wounded, 28 of them seriously. If heads don’t roll in this maggot’s chain of command, the Army will have shamed itself beyond moral redemption.
There’s another important issue, too. How could the Army allow an obviously incompetent and dysfunctional psychiatrist to treat our troubled soldiers returning from war? An Islamist whacko is counseled for arguing with veterans who’ve been assigned to his care? And he’s not removed from duty? What planet does the Army live on?

For the first time since I joined the Army in 1976, I’m ashamed of its dereliction of duty. The chain of command protected a budding terrorist who was waving one red flag after another. Because it was safer for careers than doing something about him.

Get ready for the apologias. We’ve already heard from the terrorist’s family that "he’s a good American." In their world, maybe he is. But when do we, the American public, knock off the PC nonsense?

A disgruntled Muslim soldier murdered his officers way back in 2003, in Kuwait, on the eve of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Recently? An American mullah shoots it out with the feds in Detroit. A Muslim fanatic attacks an Arkansas recruiting station. A Muslim media owner, after playing the peace card, beheads his wife. A Muslim father runs over his daughter because she’s becoming too Westernized. Muslim terrorist wannabes are busted again and again. And we’re assured that "Islam’s a religion of peace."

I guarantee you that the Obama administration’s non-response to the Ft. Hood attack will mock the memory of our dead.

Second a statement, should the senator find himself voting in favor of the bill I assure him that I will be voting against him, to the point I would elect a stray dog to office ahead of him, and I will voluntarily campaign for that dog to take as many votes from the senator as I possibly can. He has done an excellent job thus far of representing the people who have elected him, and I hope he will not have to be reminded of who gave him his job.

I'd encourage EVERYONE to have such a conversation with their representatives, or at least their secretary, they can only ignore so many calls before they have to tell him, by the way, Mr Senator...your ENTIRE DISTRICT called.

Evening Jer: Reading through the blogs and always find myself back here.

I'll take some heat for the following post but fine with me...(not my words but an email I received). I personally really like her....

The frenetic hostility to Sarah Palin, even by many on the Republican side, is unnerving, because her qualifications to be president are objectively better than those of almost anyone who has been on the national ticket over the past decade.

A reasonable conclusion is that these qualifications are precisely the cause of the hostility. To admit to the reality that the dominant political class, including the MSM and the punditocracy of both parties, has been giving us abysmal presidential candidates, to accept that a hockey mom plucked from small-town Alaska is better than the best that the political class can come up with, would require recognition of the terrible truth that the system has become deeply dysfunctional. Doing this would force our political elites to look into an abyss of serious questions about the functioning of our democracy. Palin creates a cognitive dissonance so intense that it simply cannot be accepted.
